Weah supported Blatter four years ago

Liberia's George Weah has denied that he wants Issa Hayatou to win the Fifa presidency.

Recent reports had suggested Weah was supporting Confederation of African Football President Hayatou in the election on 29 May.

But the 35-year-old campaigned for Sepp Blatter when the presidency was last contested four years ago.

And the former World Footballer of the Year has said that he wants Blatter to win the forthcoming election.

"Mr Hayatou knows that I can never in my life vote or campaign for him," Weah told LoneStarsoccer.com.

"I will always promote Fifa and Blatter because they are good for the game.

"I want Africa and Africans to see with their own eyes what Fifa have done to promote African football in the last four years.

Weah also expressed his anger his anger at the reports he is backing Hayatou.

"The whole world knows that this is not correct.

"How can I campaign against my president who I helped to elect four years ago?"
