Guinea's youngsters wait in hope

The row between Fifa and Guinea over the stake of the FA in Conakry might extend to the Under-17 Nations Cup in Seychelles.

According to a Fifa spokesman, Guinea's Under-17 team might not be allowed to play in the final against Nigeria on Saturday if the previous FA executive sacked by the government in January is not reinstated by Friday morning.

Caf president Issa Hayatou has decided that if Guinea's ban goes ahead, Burkina Faso will contest the Under-17 final against the Nigerians.

It is still not clear wether Burkina Faso will play for third place against Mali on Friday as scheduled.

Burkina Faso was defeated 2-1 by Guinea in the semi finals.

Nigeria qualified to the final, winning on penalties against Mali 4-3.
