Vauxhall will be unveiled as the new sponsors of the England football team, BBC Sport understands.

The vehicle manufacturer will replace Nationwide, which ended its 11-year sponsorship of the England team in July last year.

Details of the multi-million pound deal will be revealed next week, but both the Football Association and Vauxhall have declined to comment.

England's next match is a friendly with Denmark in Copenhagen on 9 February.

They then resume their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign on 26 March with a trip to the Millennium Stadium to play Gary Speed's Wales.

In 2009, Nationwide tabled a £20m offer to extend the partnership with England for another four years, but this was turned down by the FA.

The governing body was said to be reasonably confident of Fabio Capello's side making a significant impact at the 2010 World Cup and held out in the hope of attracting a more lucrative offer.

In the event, England had a poor campaign, stuttering to second place in their group behind the United States, before being thrashed 4-1 by Germany in their last-16 tie.
