St Georges and Peel will contest the Railway Cup final

Premier League

St Georges and Peel will contest the Parkinson Railway Cup final on Monday 27 December after both sides won their respective semi-finals on Saturday.

Callum Morrisey netted a brace for the Premier League leaders in a 2-0 win over Laxey as Peel beat Douglas High School Old Boys 1-0.

Marc Kelly's goal was enough to seal victory for the Westerners who had Gary Quirk dismissed after 20 minutes.

The final will be played on Monday 27 December at Ramsey's Ballacloan ground.

The Isle of Man FA have moved the final from its traditional Boxing Day date in an attempt to boost crowd figures.

Manx FA vice chairman Tony Mepham told BBC Isle of Man: "It's all set to be entertaining game of football and we want people to come down to Ramsey and enjoy the match."

Meanwhile, St Marys took advantage of the cup action to move fourth in the Canada Life Premier League.

The Saints defeated Michael United to move above Laxey and leave Michael just three points clear of the drop zone.

Elsewhere, Castletown registered their first home win of the season with a 4-0 win over Douglas Royal.
