Italy remain calm about NI trip despite Derry bomb

Cesare Prandelli's Italy side are due in Belfast on Thursday

Italy are awaiting further information about their Euro 2012 qualifier against Northern Ireland following a bomb blast in Londonderry on Tuesday morning.

The Italians are scheduled to travel to Belfast on Thursday ahead of the match at Windsor Park on Friday.

The explosion damaged several business although no one was injured.

"We are trying to understand what the situation is. We are calm, although we were calmer yesterday," said Italian coach Cesare Prandelli on Tuesday.

The Italian Football Federation's head of security operations, Roberto Massucci, will be in the party travelling to Belfast.
