Guernsey are out of the Uefa Regions Cup after their 10-man side lost 3-0 to Turkey's Ankara on Tuesday.

The Turkish side went ahead through substitute Atila Cetin, who scored in the 67th minute.

Two goals in the 93rd and 95th minute of the game sealed the victory for Turkey, who topped the group.

Guernsey had gone down to 10 men after goalkeeper Tom Le Tissier was given a straight red for a challenge on Kemal Inan at the end of the first half.

Striker Craig Young was immediately substituted for Guernsey's other goalkeeper Richard Davey.

However, the 10-man Guernsey were always facing an uphill battle, even before the first goal or the injury-time deciders from Emre Yasin and Fatih Deniz.

Guernsey were representing England in the competition after winning the National League System Cup.

They won their second game of the preliminary round on Sunday against Gwent County from Wales 3-0 and drew their opening game against the Croatian hosts Dalmacija 0-0.

England's last representatives in the tournament, the Southern Amateur League, also finished third in their group in the competition's preliminary round.

In the other match Gwent County lost 6-3 to Croatian side Dalmacija.

The Welsh took the lead twice before half-time through Michael Williams, but Dalmacija equalised both times and after the break the hosts came out strong scoring four times in seven minutes, including one from the penalty spot.

Rhys Hodges scored a consolation for Gwent in the 77th minute.

It was the second consecutive time the side have represented Wales in the competition and they have lost every game.
