Football on the BBC for 2010-11 season

Goal of the Season - 2009/10

Some of the best goals from the 2009/10 Football League season

The new football season starts on Friday, and you will be able to see every goal from the Premier League, Scottish Premier League and Football League on the BBC.

The BBC Sport website will offer match highlights from the SPL and Football League for a second year running, while Sunday's Premier League highlights show Match of the Day 2 makes its debut on iPlayer.

From every Wednesday following the Sunday broadcast, we are able to show MOTD2, complete with highlights from Sunday's matches and all the goals from Saturday's games at bbc.co.uk/iplayer.

The Premier League gets under way on Saturday 14 August, with Match of the Day returning, showcasing the pick of the action from every one of the day's matches. Presenter Gary Lineker is back alongside regular pundits Alan Hansen, Mark Lawrenson, Alan Shearer and Lee Dixon to analyse all the games.

MOTD2 has Colin Murray in the presenting chair this season, with Dixon and a range of footballing personalities having their final say on the weekend's action.

BBC Sport's chief football writer Phil McNulty will be blogging on the top-flight action throughout the season and you can follow him on Twitter and Facebook too.

The Football League kicks off the new campaign, with last year's League One champions Norwich taking on Watford at Carrow Road on Friday and the rest of the Championship and League One and League Two starting on Saturday and Sunday.

BBC Sport will televise 10 Championship games

throughout the season - the first saw newly-promoted Leeds beaten 2-1 by Derby at Elland Road on 7 August.

The Football League Show also returns on Saturday on BBC One at 2335 BST and that is available on iPlayer from every Sunday for seven days.

Manish Bhasin and Steve Claridge will once again be the regular studio team, with guest studio appearances from Leroy Rosenior and Mark Bright.

As it did last season, the BBC Sport website continues to offer match highlights from every game in the Football League, providing users with the chance to watch every goal from all three divisions.

Claridge provides his expert opinion on the Championship, League One and League Two, taking questions throughout the season, while BBC Sport blogger Paul Fletcher will unearth the stories that help to tell the Football League tale. You can also follow Claridge and Fletcher on Twitter.

The BBC has announced another four of its live Championship matches for the new season.

They are Burnley v Preston on Saturday 11 September, Doncaster v Sheffield United on Saturday 23 October, Cardiff v Swansea on Sunday 7 November and Norwich v Ipswich on Sunday 28 November.
