1720:
My Sport
Bringthemonjpn has the last say on My Sport: "What's all the fuss about? Celtic might be top of the SPL, but Rangers have the wee game in hand." Thank you and goodnight!

1716: Throw in nine-man Dundee United's 2-2 thriller with Motherwell alongside St Johnstone's 1-1 draw with Hamilton, and it's proved quite a day with plenty of talking points. Falkirk remain bottom of the table, a point behind Kilmarnock. Thanks again for your company throughout the afternoon. We're back next Saturday for more of the same!

1715: What a day! In what seems like an eternity ago, 10-man Aberdeen recorded a hard-fought win over Rangers. Celtic took advantage of that defeat to move clear at the top of the table. Derek Riordan fired a double as Hibs moved level on points with second-placed Rangers, in a 2-0 win over Falkirk at Easter Road. And under-pressure Hearts sealed a 2-1 win over Kilmarnock.

1710: Remember, you can see highlights of today's games on our website from 1800 GMT on Sunday. A few red cards to chew over and the odd cracking goal.

1707: Celtic manager Tony Mowbray says his team "came through" with a victory today after asking his players to raise their game.

1700: Celtic move back to the top of the Scottish Premier League, two points ahead of Old Firm rivals Rangers, having played a game more.

Full time
1657: FULL-TIME Hibs 2-0 Falkirk, St Johnstone 1-1 Hamilton

1656: FULL-TIME Kilmarnock 1-2 Hearts

1653: Right, deep breath. Kevin Kyle misses the penalty for Kilmarnock before Craig Bryson pulls one back for the hosts against Hearts. Meanwhile, back at Celtic Park, St Mirren defender Chris Innes is sent off for a deliberate handball. However, he is then told to come back on because referee Steve Conroy thought he had already been booked! Innes comes back on, Paul Gallacher saves Scott McDonald's penalty, and the game ends Celtic 3-1 St Mirren.

1652:

1638: GOAL! Kilmarnock 0-2 Hearts (Christian Nade)

1636: "I can't believe Hearts have taken the lead. The goal came from nothing, though to be fair Jonsson took it very well." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Jim Fleeting

1635: Zheng Zhi fires into the net but the goal is disallowed for offside at Celtic Park.

1633: BBC Radio Scotland summariser Stevie Cowan is going bananas about all the players wearing gloves at Easter Road!

1615: We need a few more goals to see us through to full-time.

1610: BBC Scotland commentator Liam McLeod says the fog is "tumbling down" at Celtic Park. Reminds me of the horror film called The Fog, starring Jamie Lee Curtis. Wonder if she's at the game today?

1541: Kevin Rutkiewicz's shot deflects inches over the crossbar as Saints come close to taking the lead against Hamilton.

1524: GOAL! St Johnstone 0-1 Hamilton (Antoine-Curier)

1522:
My Sport
From superskippy1888 On My Sport: "Boo hoo bringthemonjpn! I think the real issue is Rangers failing to score against a makeshift Aberdeen defence despite having an extra man and the majority of possession in the 2nd half."

1521: Falkirk defenders are flinging themselves around desperatley to block two shots from Derek Riordan before Merouane Zemmama's effort is smothered by keeper Robert Olejnik.

1520: "The game really hasn't got going yet, bearing in mind that if one of these teams lose they could be bottom of the league." BBC commentator Bill Leckie at Rugby Park

1518: Andreas Hinkel's near-post cross is volleyed over by Scott McDonald.

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal

1512: BBC Radio Scotland pundit Murdo MacLeod reckons there's about 35,000 inside Celtic Park. More than a few empty seats in the 60,000 capacity stadium.

1511:
My Sport
From bringthemonjpn On My Sport: "Why do Rangers have to play their game before the Celtic game kicks off? A clear advantage to Celtic and Gordon Smith must do something about it."

1507: Hibs full-back David Wotherspoon sends a volley over the top after latching on to a wonderful cross-field pass from Derek Riordan.

1504: Zheng Zhi has a snapshot after Aiden McGeady's cutback but Paul Gallacher gets down to make the save.

1502: Tomas Cerny saves well from Kenny Deuchar as St Johnstone threaten at McDiarmid Park.

1501: There's a minute silence at Rugby Park, impeccably observed, for the late Kilmarnock legend Frank Beattie.

1501: We're under way in this afternoon's five SPL games.

1457:

1443: Jim Leighton has awarded the BBC Scotland man of the match to Derek Young who he has described as "his old mate".

1442: Celtic, who could leapfrog Rangers and move top of the table if they beat St Mirren, make two changes to the side that lost to Dundee United. Striker Georgios Samaras comes in for Marc-Antoine Fortune and Zheng Zhi replaces Barry Robson.

1441: We'll get some reaction from that result at Pittodrie soon. Let's turn our attention to the rest of today's SPL games.

1439: The Dons inflict Rangers' first league defeat in 25 matches, as Mark McGhee's men move to within a point of fifth-placed Motherwell.

Full time
1438: Aberdeen 1-0 Rangers

1437: Rangers defender David Weir sends a shot wide of goal.

1436: Kris Boyd wastes a great chance to grab a late equaliser with a weak effort straight at Jamie Langfield.

1435: Aberdeen striker Lee Miller earns a free-kick following a high-foot challenge from Madjid Bougherra. We're deep into injury time.

1433: The blue bombardment continues and Sasa Papac sends the ball wide after a howler from Jamie Langfield, the keeper coming for a cross and grabbing at the ball like trying to catch a salmon leaping from the river!

1432: "For me Rangers are huffing and puffing without having any real threat." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Jim Leighton

1431: Nacho Novo and Madjid Bougherra press before Kris Boyd sends a header over the bar. Ten-man Aberdeen have two minutes plus any injury time to hang onto their lead.

1430: Rangers are continuing to huff and puff but Dons keeper Jamie Langfield has been relatively untroubled in this second half, apart from a cracker of a stop to deny Kris Boyd.

1429: "Aberdeen have been absolutely magnificent and if there's any justice, they should win." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Jim Leighton

1428:
Yellow card
John Fleck goes in the book for a foul on Peter Pawlett. There's a little over six minutes remaining at Pittodrie.

1427: Ian from Falkirk has texted 80295 and obviously doesn't think much of referee Craig Thomson's decision to send Mark Kerr packing. "And that is the best ref in Scotland? Makes a poor league even poorer if he is the best we have. Anyone who goes to games week in week out knows how bad Thomson is." Ouch.

1425: John Fleck finds Kris Boyd with a cracking through ball, but the moustachioed hitman can't keep it in play. Goal-kick to Aberdeen. A stern-faced Rangers manager Walter Smith looks on.

1424: Rangers are probing, trying to unlock the Aberdeen defence, but they are lacking a bit of magic.

1423: Aberdeen survive unrelenting pressure as crosses come in from all angles but Jamie Langfield's goal, and the Dons' lead, remains intact.

1420: Bougherra comes on for Steven Whittaker, we're into the last 13 minutes here at Pittodrie. Aberdeen assistant manager Scott Leitch receives a talking-to from referee Craig Thomson. Dons boss Mark McGhee can see the funny side.

1417: Madjid Bougherra is warming up and could be introduced soon. Derek Young, tigerish in the tackle, dispossesses Steven Naismith and snuffs out a Rangers attack. Superb display from Young so far.

1416:
My Sport
From chelmsforddon On My Sport: "How many stupid refereeing decisions have Aberdeen had against them this season now? Why do they feel the need to make themselves noticed - the best refs are hardly seen or heard from. It's an absolute joke."

1414: Rangers defender David Weir is spared a yellow card for a clear obstruction on Aberdeen goalscorer Lee Miller. The veteran can count himself fortunate there...

1412: Nacho Novo comes on for Lee McCulloch as Rangers manager Walter Smith rattles and rolls the dice with a little over 20 minutes remaining.

1411: Ten-man Dons have another 24 minutes to survive and take all three points. Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee looks fit to pop on the touchline. He is jabbing a gloved finger in the direction of the pitch following a foul against one of his players. Tense times at Pittodrie.

1410: "Aberdeen have been unfortunate with the amount of red cards they've had this season." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Jim Leighton on the Dons' fourth red card in as many games

1408: Kris Boyd's clever header plays in striking partner Kenny Miller but he blazes a volley well wide of goal.

1406: Chris Maguire is replaced by Stuart Duff as Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee looks to add some steel to his 10-man side. Maguire looks gutted at being withdrawn.

1404: "That is a nonsense. I've got to say that is a nonsense." BBC Radio Scotland commentator David Begg on Mark Kerr's red card

1403:
Red card
Mark Kerr is given his marching orders for a second yellow card after another foul on Steven Naismith.

1400: Jamie Langfield brilliantly tips Kris Boyd's shot over the bar.

1357: Rangers left back Sasa Papac wastes a good chance to play in Kris Boyd with a heavy cross that drifts out for a goal-kick.

1356: Aberdeen have started the second half strongly, with Rangers struggling to get out of their own half.

1354:
My Sport
From mindbluethinker On My Sport: "Rangers do need Boughera but he keeps letting us down with his vanishing acts. 3 times, come on!"

1353: "I'm not sure that was worthy of a yellow card." BBC Radio Scotland commentator David Begg on Mark Kerr's booking

1352:
Yellow card
Aberdeen skipper Mark Kerr receives the first yellow card of the game for a sliding challenge on Steven Naismith.

1351: Kenny Miller sends a weak shot at goal, gathered comfortably by Aberdeen goalkeeper Jamie Langfield. But the Scotland international is already offering more than the off-form Lafferty did in the first half.

1349: "I think Rangers are vulnerable down that right-hand side with Steven Whittaker." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Jim Leighton

1350: Michael Paton rampages down the left-wing but his cross hits the side netting.

1350: The second half gets under way.

1348: Kenny Miller is a half-time substitute for Kyle Lafferty as Rangers manager Walter Smith looks to add some firepower.

1337: If you want to play our special Sportsound Movember picture quiz, have a look at our ridiculous Moustache gallery.

There hasn't been this much face-furniture on display since Dallas was topping the TV ratings in the 1980s.
1332:
My Sport
From JCDBigBear On My Sport: "We miss Mendes and Edu but in their absence Bougherra could beef up the middle. Thomson and Bougherra should be on. Lafferty is shockingly poor just now and shouldn't be on the park."

Half time
1331: Aberdeen 1-0 Rangers

1330: Kris Boyd fires another shot over the bar. We're into one minute of added-time.

1328: Rangers force their fourth corner of the half but Aberdeen clear. Allan McGregor could fish out a newspaper and have a quick read the way things are going - all the action is in Dons territory at the moment.

1327: Steven Whittaker runs the ball out for an Aberdeen goal-kick and the home fans breath a collective sigh of relief as the onslaught eases for a few seconds. Three minutes until half-time.

1324: "Rangers are getting into good areas now but they are not making Jamie Langfield work," BBC Radio Scotland pundit Jim Leighton.

1324: Richard Foster blocks Rangers striker Kris Boyd's hook shot inside the penalty area and the ball is cleared. The Dons are creaking like an old rickety rocking chair but their slender lead remains intact.

1323: Panic in the Dons' defence as Kris Boyd looks to get the ball from under his feet to get a shot on goal, but a swarm of red shirts somehow scramble the ball clear.

1321: Rangers midfielder Lee McCulloch tests Jamie Langfield with a 35-yard effort, that the keeper does well to push away. Eight minutes until the break of a barn-storming, rip-roaring, nerve-shredding, entertaining first half.

1320: Rangers defender Danny Wilson traps a high ball perfectly and glides away from Chris Maguire's challenge. Madjid Bougherra will struggle to dislodge the teenager from the team on this kind of form.

1319: Aberdeen goalkeeper Jamie Langfield claws away Kris Boyd's flashing drive inside the penalty area. A superb save, but it was a decent height for the keeper. A corner for the visitors but they fail to profit. Rangers getting closer to an equaliser...

1318:
My Sport
From iGooner On My Sport: "The SPL has become so much more competitive with the big two dropping points that people wouldn't expect them to. It wouldn't surprise me if someone gatecrashes the Celtic and Rangers party at the top this season."

1316: "There was nothing in that; just a coming together," BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds is not moved by Steven Whittaker's tumble in the penalty box.

1314: Rangers appeal for a penalty as Steven Whittaker tumbles under Chris Maguire's challenge but referee Craig Thomson, with a shake of the head, waves play on.

1313: Charlie Mulgrew sends a dangerous free-kick into the area but the Rangers defence repel the danger.

1312: John Fleck blazes wildly over the bar but the league leaders are starting to see more of the ball. We're almost at the half-hour mark and the Dons still lead by a goal to nil. Cracking game!

1311: What a chance for Rangers... Kris Boyd finds himself in acres of space inside the penalty area but his shot is going well wide before Kyle Lafferty gets his head to it, sending it over the bar.

1310: The Aberdeen fans let out a thunderous cheer after Kyle Lafferty is penalised for a handball in the centre circle. The Northern Irishman gives a rueful shake of the head.

1308:
My Sport
From BennyGers On My Sport: "Poor, poor display here from Rangers. They are making Aberdeen look as good as Stuttgart."

1307: The Dons are pinging the ball about with some neat, crisp passes and the visiting support are becoming restless. The Rangers midfield need to bare their teeth here to get back into the game.

1306: "Aberdeen's shape and the way they are set up has been absolutely brilliant," BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds is impressed by the start made by the home team.

1304:
My Sport
From JCDBigBear On My Sport: I shouldn't be surprised that Walter Smith has left out Bougherra because he is just a very stubborn man. I like Wilson and would actually prefer Wilson and Bougherra with the very slow Weir dropping out.

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
1302: Michael Paton turns Steven Whittaker inside out on the right before sending in a wicked low cross for Lee Miller to fire the ball past the helpless Allan McGregor from close range. The hosts are 1-0 up, and deservedly so.

1301: GOAL Aberdeen 1-0 Rangers (Lee Miller)

1300: Steven Whittaker threads the ball through to Lee McCulloch, but the midfielder's heavy pass trundles out for a goal-kick. Sums up the opening quarter for the visitors: they're still trying to find their feet.

1258: Rangers have been unable to establish any rhythm so far with the Dons midfield snapping at their heels at every opportunity. Mark McGhee must be happy with the way his side have started the game. Shielding his eyes from the sun, he barks a few orders to his strikers.

...Charlie Mulgrew takes the free-kick, but sends it just over the bar. Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor was rooted to the spot, if that was on target it would've given the Dons the lead. Still goalless after an entertaining opening 10 minutes.

1255: John Fleck hauls down Peter Pawlett and Aberdeen have a free-kick in dangerous territory...

1253: Kyle Lafferty is getting a bit of stick from the Dons fans, clearly still smarting from his clash with Charlie Mulgrew last season, where the Aberdeen defender received a red card. John Fleck sends another corner into the Dons penalty area but the ball is cleared.

1252: Six minutes gone and both sides are attacking with gusto. I can't see this one finishing goalless. Our auto-refresh is working again, apologies for the early technical problems!

1251: Aberdeen youngster Peter Pawlett dances away from a few challenges before forcing a corner. A cracking start to the game here at Pittodrie.

1250: Rangers midfielder Lee McCulloch spurns a great chance to head the visitors into an early lead as his effort drifts wide from John Fleck's corner.

1248: Aberdeen have come haring out the traps and Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor has had to be on his toes to deal with a couple of high balls.

1245: We're under way at Pittodrie, but there's a problem with the autorefresh at the moment, so if you could manually refresh the page in the meantime. Thanks.

1243: Davide Grassi is sporting a mask to protect his fractured cheekbone. He looks like a character from the film Eyes Wide Shut!

1239: "With the changes in defence, Aberdeen don't have a lot of height in the team and that could give Rangers a big advantage," BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds.

1235:
My Sport
From ZimmerBear On My Sport: I have a feeling it's going to be a close game at Pittodrie. Hopefully a 2-1 win for the Gers.

1230: Jerel Ifil has picked up a knock in the warm-up, so Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee is forced into a late re-shuffle with Davide Grassi drafted in.

1229: What do Rangers fans think of Bougherra's omission? Danny Wilson has impressed alongside David Weir but the Algerian has been one of Walter Smith's most consistent performers. Take the stage on My Sport to give me your thoughts.

My Sport
From Ferdinaldooney On My Sport: An easy win for Celtic today, but Rangers are going to have a hard game after midweek. They need a big response but I think they're going to be tired both emotionally and physically.
1225: For the Dons, Chris Maguire and Derek Young come in for the injured Andrew Considine and suspended Gary McDonald. Young is making his first start since the opening game of the season - a 5-1 thumping at the hands of Sigma Olomouc in their Europa League qualifier!

Rangers manager Walter Smith makes two changes to the side that lost to Stuttgart. Kevin Thomson and Kenny Miller are the men to drop out with John Fleck and Steven Naismith coming in. Lee McCulloch is restored to midfield after his stint at centre half against the Germans, but there's still no place for Madjid Bougherra.

1215: Aberdeen: Langfield, Mulgrew, Foster, Ifil, Maguire, Kerr, Pawlett, Young, Miller, Maurice Ross, Paton. Subs: Nelson, Diamond, Mackie, Wright, Duff, Grassi, Jack.

Rangers: McGregor, Weir, Papac, McCulloch, Davis, Boyd, Naismith, Whittaker, Wilson, Lafferty, Fleck. Subs: Alexander, Thomson, Novo, Miller, Bougherra, Smith, Little.

1205: Rangers have won only once in their previous eight visits to Pittodrie. Nacho Novo and Libor Sionko got the goals in a 2-1 win way back in December 2006.

1200: Good afternoon and welcome to what promises to be another cracking day of Scottish Premier League action.
