Stockport eased into round two of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy with a comfortable victory at Crewe.

Carl Baker put the visitors ahead with a fine strike after Adam Legzdins flapped at a Michael Rose corner, and then scored a carbon-copy second.

Nicholas Bignall slotted home a third before the hosts saw Harry Worley's header ruled out for offside.

Calvin Zola fired a late consolation but there was still time for Baker to get his hat-trick with the final kick.
