McCall steps up, Scales eyes Ipswich
McCall takes over
Bradford City veteran Stuart McCall has been confirmed as assistant manager to new boss Chris Hutchings.
McCall was offered the job while on holiday after former manager Paul Jewell left for Sheffiield Wednesday.
And he has now agreed to join the managerial team at Valley Parade as preparations start for the new season.
The appointment of McCall rounds off a positive start to Hutchings' managerial reign.
He celebrated his first game in charge with a 3-1 win against FK Atlantas in the Intertoto Cup second round first leg in Lithuania.
Scales signs in at Ipswich
John Scales is undergoing a medical with a view to joining Premiership newcomers Ipswich Town.
Portman Road boss George Burley believes his experience will be vital in the new season.
Arsenal's waiting game
Brazil midfield man Cesar Sampaio is signing for Spanish champions Deportivo La Coruna.
He will replace fellow Brazilian Flavio Conceicao, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal, and Arsene Wenger will be awaiting developments..
Sampaio is still waiting to discover when his Deportivo career will start. They want him for the start of the season, but his contract with Palmeiras runs until December 30. Deportivo have also announced the signing of Argentine under-21 international Aldo Duscher from Sporting Lisbon in a £5m deal.
