Grannec fought off 500,000 competitors to lift the trophy
France's Bruce Grannec has been crowned Fifa Interactive world champion after a nail-biting grand final in Spain.
The 22-year-old defeated Mexican Ruben Zerecero 3-1 to lift the title in a competition that 500,000 would-be champions had entered online.
Grannec, who wins $20,000 (£13,500) and a new car, said his win "paid back hours and hours of practice".
"I am very proud of this victory," added Grannec. "It proves that, if you work hard, you will have success."
While Barcelona were preparing to demolish Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, Grannec produced a similarly emphatic victory in front of 8,000 spectators at a Barcelona beach.
