Belgrave Wanderers manager Micky Ogier says a lack of goals in their last few games cost them the Guernsey title.
Bels lost 2-0 to North on Tuesday, ending their hopes of winning the Senior County League Division One.
"We've had a good season but in the last three games we just haven't been able to put it in the back of the net," he told BBC Guernsey.
He says he is now focused on getting his side ready for the GFA Cup semi-final on Saturday against Rangers.
Bels scored just one goal in their final three games, which all ended in defeat, as they went from title favourites to runners-up in the space of 10 days.
Ogier's men had been in free-scoring form before that as they hit 74 goals in their previous 15 matches, including three double-figure hauls against bottom side Rovers.
"I'm gutted to be honest. You're there right at the end and to lose it's not very nice.

"We had to go out and score goals and we didn't. It's not been rolling for us in the last three games and it has for North.
"But credit to our lads, they're not just a team to me, they're mates as well and I'm gutted for them as mates and players," added Ogier, who will step down as Bels boss at the end of the season.
But he can still walk away with some silverware. His side take on St Martin's in the newly-named Channel Islands Champions League final on Wednesday, 25 March.
"We've got a game on Saturday against Rangers in the FA Cup, so hopefully we can take them and make the final. Hopefully we can turn it round, we just need a little bit of luck at the moment as it's not going our way.
And Ogier sent his best wishes to North as they prepare to face the champions of Jersey in the Upton in April.
"Whoever they face they can beat them, that's for sure. If Mick [Le Prevost] goes out there and attacks them hopefully they can give them a beating and stand us in good stead for the Muratti."
