St Mary's move into second place

Football

St Mary's moved into second place in the Sure Mobile Premier League on Saturday with a hard-fought 2-1 win at Glen Road on Saturday.

Marc Priestnal scored both goals for St Mary's to fire them to within a point of league leaders Peel.

Dan Kelly was on target for the Glen Road outfit as the home side produced an encouraging performance.

Meanwhile, Jamie Moffitt was the match-winner for Michael with the only goal of the game at Union Mills.

The win keeps Michael moving in the right direction and could prove vital at the end of the season.

Elsewhere, Laxey returned to form with a thumping 6-0 win at Corinthians.

Lee Cowley hit a hat-trick for the Miners with Keith Brown, Justin Hawley and Johnny Baker also finding the net and deepening Corinthians' relegation worries.
