Birmingham snap up Traore on loan

Traore joins Birmingham's bid to win promotion back to the Premier League

Birmingham have signed defender Djimi Traore on an emergency three-month loan deal from Premier League Portsmouth.

Traore, 28, began his career in England with Liverpool, where he won a 2005 Champions League winners medal, before moving to Charlton in August 2006.

Traore joined Pompey for 1m after only five months at The Valley, but has failed to feature regularly for the South Coast club.

He will be at St Andrew's for a maximum of 93 days under the rules of the deal.
