Kennedy said he was proud of his young side's performance on Saturday
Jersey Under-21 manager Dave Kennedy said he was proud of his side despite Saturday's late defeat by Guernsey.
Jersey were 2-0 up with 10 minutes to go before Guernsey got two late goals to force extra time and went on to win 3-2 with a goal in the last minute.
Only one member of Jersey's side had played at under-21 level before.
"They were prepared to compete to the very best of their ability and I'm very proud of them all," Kennedy told BBC Radio Jersey.
"We had a very young squad that was very inexperienced as far as island level was concerned.
"We knew that this was one of their [Guernsey's] strongest under-21 sides for a long time, but it doesn't make it any easier when you're beaten that way.
"It's a sore one to take when you lose with the last kick of the ball and had put so much into the game," he added.
