Maradona at the Olympic Games
Maradona in Beijing: left, cheering on Argentine teams; top right, with Ronaldinho; bottom right, celebrating with an Argentine hockey player
Where: Beijing, China.

When: August, 2008.

Who: Just about everyone. Maradona made the most of his Olympic experience, watching his beloved Argentina all over Beijing. He saw them beat Brazil in the football semi-final, after meeting the admiring Ronaldinho.

Whether at the basketball or the hockey - when Maradona was shown on the big screen at any venue, it produced just about the loudest cheer of the night.

What he said after the men's football final was played in 42 degree heat: "It's inhuman. The players can't breathe and it's difficult to run. The heat is unbearable."
