Portsmouth v Manchester United

Harry Redknapp is a really good man manager. He knows that top-level footballers are millionaires and that you can only deliver a blast to them every so often.

Pompey lost 4-0 at Chelsea on the opening day of the season. That result was probably the culmination of Pompey not quite being on it during pre-season and I expect that Harry has given his players something of a wake-up call.

Defensively they were all over the shop against Chelsea and you would expect a good response.

Man Utd are notoriously sluggish starters and Fratton Park is a difficult place to go.

Verdict: 1-1
