Welling sign striker Sheringham

Blue Square South club Welling United have signed striker Charlie Sheringham.

The son of former Spurs, Manchester United and England star Teddy, Charlie Sheringham has been with Millwall, Tottenham, Ipswich and Crystal Palace.

More recently the 20-year-old was with Cambridge City where he scored six goals in five games before their demotion at the end of last season.

Despite interest in him from several other clubs, Sheringham decided to sign for the Wings.
