Veteran West Bromwich Albion striker Kevin Phillips was named Championship player of the year at the third Football League Awards in London.
Phillips has scored 16 league goals this season
The 34-year-old, this season's top scorer in the Championship, pipped Charlton's Andy Gray and Michael Kightly of Wolves to the title.
Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford was named League One player of the year and also won the goal of the year award.
MK Dons midfielder Keith Andrews picked up the League Two player prize.
It was announced the day before the ceremony that former England captain Jimmy Armfield, who has also been a respected BBC analyst since 1978, would be receiving the prestigious Outstanding Contribution honour.
Armfield was given a standing ovation by the 800 guests at the ceremony.
