Stoke have signed Glenn Whelan for £500,000 from Sheffield Wednesday and Paul Gallagher on loan from Blackburn Rovers on transfer deadline day.

Whelan, 24, agreed a three-and-a-half year deal while Gallagher has rejoined City until the end of the season.
"We are delighted with the business that we have achieved today, especially in being able to sign Glenn and Paul," said Stoke chief Tony Scholes.
The Whelan fee brings Stoke's total spending this January to almost £5m.
Meanwhile, Potters striker Adam Rooney, 19, has returned to Stoke after ending a loan spell with Chesterfield.
Blackburn academy midfielder Mamadi Keita has joined German side Hamburg after having his contract cancelled.
