Bent has struggled to make an impact at Spurs
|
Tottenham have dismissed reports that striker Darren Bent will be allowed to leave White Hart Lane in January.
Bent, 23, has failed to settle since his £16.5m move from Charlton and has scored just three Premier League goals.
But sporting director Damien Comolli insisted: "Reports that Darren Bent is for sale are totally inaccurate."
Spurs' interest in Lyon forward Fred also looks to have ended with Comolli revealing that the club are not in the market for any strikers.
Bent had been linked with a reunion with former boss Alan Curbishley, who is now manager of West Ham.
He has scored five times in 20 appearances since his club-record transfer and has struggled to hold down a regular starting place.

Comolli added: "The majority of the reports that I have read are completely wide of the mark."
The 24-year-old Brazil star Fred claimed he had turned down offers from the Premier League to stay with the French club.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas said: "What bothers me most is his indecision. If I knew that he said this because he really wanted to stay, I would be relieved."
Fred had been keen to leave Les Gones after losing his place in the first team to the in-form Karim Benzema.
But Comolli's comments look to have ruled out any further movement in the Brazilian's proposed transfer.
