Sutton scores 43 goals in three seasons tempting Blackburn to fork out a British transfer fee record £5m to snap him up
Sutton forms a dynamic partnership with Alan Shearer as Rovers win the Premiership in 1995 - their first title since 1914
An injury-plagued season follows and although Sutton re-finds his form, Rovers are relegated four years after their title win
Chelsea step in and secure Sutton's services for £10m in the summer of 1999 but he struggles at Stamford Bridge
Sutton scores just one league goal, in the 5-0 demolition of Manchester United, in 28 appearances for the Blues
His England aspirations also suffer and his only cap remains his 1997 substitute appearance in the 2-0 win over Cameroon
He moves to Celtic in 2000 for £6m and is an immediate hit after scoring a debut winner against Dundee United
And he cements his place in the hearts of Celtic fans with a brace in his first Old Firm match, a 6-2 thrashing of Rangers
Sutton forms another prolific partnership, this time with Henrik Larsson and is named SPFA Player of the Year in 2003-04
His 86 goals in five-and-a-half seasons helps win three SPL titles, two Scottish Cups and two Scottish League Cups
Sutton joins Birmingham on a free transfer in January 2006, but injuries restrict him to just 11 appearances and one goal
City are relegated and Sutton re-joins his former Celtic boss, Martin O'Neill, at Aston Villa for the 2006-07 season
But his season is curtailed by blurred vision in December and he announces his retirement from the game on 5 July, 2007
