Sven-Goran Eriksson is involved in talks with three clubs and expects to sign a deal with one of them early in the new year, his agent says.
Athol Still told BBC Sport: "Negotiations are going on in three different areas.
"Nothing is signed, nothing is certain, but I hope things are concluded early in the new year."
The three clubs involved are reported to be Marseille, Paris St Germain and a team from Qatar.
Still refused to confirm or deny the identities of the clubs.
He said: "All of the clubs we're negotiating with have said they want confidentiality. I'm not willing to say which is the favourite."
Eriksson, 58, has been out of work since quitting as England manager at the end of the World Cup.
