The 606 message boards have been busy with fans bidding a fond farewell to Dennis Bergkamp.
The Dutch striker played his last ever game for Arsenal against Ajax at the Gunners' magnificent new Emirates Stadium.
Both sides fielded players old and new, with the likes of Johann Cruyff and Marco van Basten joining Ian Wright and Patrick Vieira in giving Bergkamp a memorable farewell.
The Arsenal fans have been discussing the game, the new stadium and Bergkamp himself on the 606 message boards.
It was a fitting end for Arsenal great Dennis Bergkamp. The fact that so many great players showed up just to pay him tribute says something. Personally I enjoyed the fact that both Van Basten and Cruyff showed up. Bergkamp himself was a bit unlucky, and didn't play particularly well, but who can blame him for that? The lad was probably extremely nervous, all 60,000 people came especially for him and that's big pressure.
Thoroughly enjoyed the match, especially the second half. Overmars showed he still has a great touch and a lot to offer and it was good to see Wrighty nearly score, only denied by a decent gave from the Ajax keeper.
Shame that DB10 didn't manage to bag a goal. Highlight of the game was also the ever cool Gilles Grimandi's calculated defensive 'block' to thwart Edgar Davids' attempt at goal. Some things never change!
It was a classy show from the Gooners, a very grand way to remember a great player. Legends have still got it, especially Overmars. Shame he a) left the Premiership early and b) he had to retire pretty early too.
What a pleasure to see Cruyff and Van Basten, Marco showed class is permanent with some great touches and a good volley.
The most impressive of the first-half Ajax team was probably Huntelaar; despite missing a couple of relatively easy headers, his movement and general link up was very impressive, and the finish for the goal was nice.
I liked the match. The youngsters got a go in the first half, then the fun really began with the legends. Van Basten showed some lovely touches.
THE NEW STADIUM
A fanastic new stadium for Arsenal to play even more beautiful football in, really looking forward to the start of the new season and 65,000 cheering us on to victory.
I think the Arsenal players will have to improve their stamina because of the size of the pitch. The Highbury pitch allowed for quick short passes, this stadium requires longer passes with better accuracy. The pitch does not appear to have as much gradient as Highbury and will be a pleasure for exponents of the beautiful game.
Emirates is easily the best stadium in the UK and can definitely match the best in Europe!
The stadium is stunning, beautiful, awe inspiring. It truly is one of the best in Europe.
Great stadium. The atmosphere is supposed to be superb, they've worked on the acoustics to make the sound as good as possible.
THE MAN HIMSELF
Bergkamp is for me one of the greatest players in the history of the Premier League, he'll be missed for sure.
Bergkamp was a truly inspirational player who is a role model for all other professionals, he always stayed out of the media spotlight and just got on with his game.
Bergkamp has been easily the best foreign player to grace the English game (maybe Zola too!).
There are five players from abroad that changed the face of football in this country. Dennis is one of them.
For me he was the most elegant and most unselfish. He changed my club forever and was and still is the most sensational signing we have made. I'll never forget the day he signed, I couldn't believe it.
Bergkamp's second only to Thierry Henry in the all-time greatest players ever to grace the Premiership, thanks for all the great memories.
Bergkamp must rank along with Zola and Cantona as being one of the best foreigners to play in the English league.
