Ardiles sacked by Japanese side
Ossie Ardiles
Ardiles had led the side to the Emperor Cup title in 2004
Former Tottenham and Newcastle manager Ossie Ardiles has been sacked as coach of J-League club Tokyo Verdy.

The 52-year-old, who took over at the club in June 2003, led the team to the Emperor Cup title the following year.

But the team have endured a dire slump in form - they have conceded 23 goals in five games and are in the midst of a nine-game winless streak.

Ardiles has previous coaching experience in Japan with Shimizu S-Pulse and Yokohama F-Marinos.
