Diego Maradona has dismissed an offer to return to football with Argentine fourth division side Excursionistas.
Excursionistas expressed an interest in signing Maradona after he said in a television interview he was considering playing low-level football.
On Tuesday Maradona said: "I'm 45, so I'm not thinking about playing football nor committing myself to anybody.
"I won't be having any discussions with Excursionistas. I don't know them but I thank them for taking me into account."
When they heard Maradona's initial suggestion that he was considering a return to action, Excursionistas president Armando Mainoli said: "We want to include Maradona on the official roster.
"We know there is some time yet to do it (clubs must hand in the squad list by 3 February) and we'd be really proud to see Diego wearing our shirt."
Excursionistas start the final stage of the Apertura campaign against Lamadrid on 4 February and have nine matches before the season wraps up.
Maradona's last match was for Boca Juniors on 25 October, 1997 when they beat rivals River Plate 2-1.
