Halifax 1-3 Scunthorpe
League One outfit Scunthorpe recorded a comfortable 3-1 win at Halifax in the second round of the LDV Vans Trophy.

Billy Sharp put the visitors ahead after nine minutes with a clinical right-foot strike from 12 yards.

Andrew Keogh swept home Wayne Corden's pass to extend their lead shortly before the hour-mark.

Substitute Tommy Johnson made it 3-0 with 13 minutes left, firing home from 12 yards, before Matthew Doughty got a consolation goal for the hosts.


Halifax: Butler, Ingram, Atherton, Young, Doughty, Midgley, Foster, Jacobs (Thompson 65), Bowler (Killeen 6), Senior (Mansaram 64), Forrest.
