Rochdale 4-1 Scarborough
Gareth Griffiths bagged a hat-trick as Rochdale eased into next round of the LDV Vans trophy by beating Scarborough.

Griffiths opened the scoring with a neat finish after Gary Jones' shot was blocked, but Keith Gilroy levelled for the Seasiders on half-time.

Grant Holt restored Dale's advantage with 15 minutes to go when he headed home a Tony Gallimore free-kick.

Griffiths then headed in and netted his third from the spot after keeper Leigh Walker kicked Holt and was sent off.

Rochdale: Gilks, Evans, Griffiths, Burgess (Clarke 45), Gallimore, McCourt, Cooksey, Jones, Warner (Probets 73), Holt, Tait (McGivern 60).
