Southend 3-0 Luton
Southend reached the southern section semi-final of the LDV Vans Trophy after a convincing 3-0 win over Luton.

An error by goalkeeper Marlon Beresford allowed Leon Constantine to shoot home from 25 yards after 80 seconds.

David Deeney fell over the ball 35 yards from the Luton goal and 17-year-old Mike Kightly took advantage to score at the second attempt.

Drewe Broughton clinched victory in the 83rd minute when headed home Steve Clark's low cross.

Southend: Flahavan, McSweeney, Cort, Hunt, Wilson, Kightly, Maher, Smith, Gower, Bramble, Constantine. Subs: Emberson, Warren, Steven Clark, Broughton, Husbands.
