Full-time: Real complete a straightforward win, with Ronaldo the most impressive player on show in the latter stages, but Beckham did enough to suggest he could prosper in central midfield.

1253: Ronaldo wraps up the victory with a superb strike from the edge of the box, beating the defender with a trademark step-over before finding the far corner of the net.

1245: The match is limping to a finish but Beckham has done his bit, linking well with strikers Raul and Ronaldo as Real dominate.

1230: Raul just fails to score a third after Beckham sets Ronaldo free down the right and the Brazilian crosses - Beckham then bursts into the box but is forced onto his left and cannot finish.

1222: Real go close when Beckham again finds Ronaldo, who flicks the ball on to Raul, but the Spaniard's chip floats wide.

1215: Beckham finds Ronaldo wih a precise pass as Real dominate possession, without really threatening.

1205: Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos and Cambiasso come on as the second half gets underway, with the rain still falling.

Half-time: Beckham has played his part with the goal as Real have taken control of the match, but he will hope to produce more from central midfield.

1150: Real go two up thanks largely to the drive of Figo in midfield, with the ball eventually finding Solari who finishes from close range.
