Deadline-day transfers
Nationwide League clubs spent Thursday making last-minute signings before the transfer deadline.

Main transfer round-up:

  • Iceland international Hermann Hreidarsson has completed a 900,000 move from Ipswich to Charlton - but will not be able to play for the Addicks this season.

  • Hull City have splashed out 100,000 on Stockport County striker Ben Burgess who had recently been on loan at Oldham Athletic following an unhappy first few months at Stockport.

  • Northampton Town have spent 50,000 on Cambridge United forward Tom Youngs.

  • Reading have boosted their play-off hopes by re-signing winger Luke Chadwick on loan from Manchester United and taking Burnley winger Glen Little.

  • Stoke City have taken striker Ade Akinbiyi on loan from Crystal Palace.

  • Sheffield United have signed goalkeeper Gary Kelly from Northwich and Mark Rankine from Preston.

  • Grimsby have boosted their squad with the signing of Preston youngster Michael Keane on loan until the end of the season.

  • Doncaster Rovers boosted their Nationwide Conference promotion bid by signing striker Greg Blundell for 25,000 from Northwich.
    Rovers have also signed Sheffield United striker Tyrone Thompson on loan.

  • Millwall have signed Brentford striker Mark McCammon on a free transfer after being released.

  • Rushden & Diamonds pulled off a major transfer coup with the signing of veteran Coventry striker Dean Holdsworth.

  • Bradford City have signed Dutch striker Laurens Ten Heuvel on loan from Sheffield United and taken ex-Swindon defender Frazer McHugh, 22, on non-contract terms from Halesowen Town.

  • Brentford have signed Efan Ekoku until the end of the season on a non-contract basis.

  • Rochdale have signed defender Darren Hockenhull from Blackburn and keeper Neil Bennett from Bradford on loan.
    Dale have also signed 19-year-old central defender Michael Taylor from Blackburn.

  • Bournemouth have signed Southampton striker Scott McDonald for the rest of the season after he scored twice in a reserve trial.

  • Leyton Orient have signed Charlton defender Michael Turner on loan for Leyton Orient until the end of the season.

  • Shrewsbury have snapped up striker Scott Partridge after parting company with Rushden & Diamonds.

  • Oxford United have completed the loan signing of Paul McCarthy from Wycombe.

  • Colchester have taken striker Ben May on loan from Millwall until the end of the season.

  • Tranmere boss Ray Mathias has strengthened his squad with the loan signing of Preston midfielder Iain Anderson.

  • Bristol Rovers have boosted their bid to avoid relegation by signing striker Andy Rammel from Wycombe.

  • Sheffield Wednesday have completed the free-transfer signing of Birmingham winger Richard Evans.

  • Injury-hit Notts County have signed Manchester City defender Paddy McCarthy, 19, on a month's loan.

  • Macclesfield have signed former Southend and Oxford striker Ben Abbey, 25, from Nationwide League club Woking on a non-contract basis.
