New Dons back in Merton
AFC Wimbledon have their own logo
AFC Wimbledon will play in their home borough of Merton next season after agreeing to groundshare with Tooting & Mitcham.
The Combined Counties League side - formed by Wimbledon fans angry at the Nationwide Division One side`s planned move to Milton Keynes - will move into Tooting & Mitcham's new 3,500-capacity stadium. Lord Faulkner, vice chair of the Government's Football Task Force, welcomed the agreement. "This is wonderful news for football supporters in Wimbledon," he said. "AFC Wimbledon is a fantastic success story, and its formation and continuing progress represent one of the most heartening developments in English football today."
