Ronaldo in contention for Fifa prize
The trio were the top choices of a panel of more than 140 national team coaches. Ronaldo was the top-scorer with eight goals as Brazil won the World Cup. He subsequently joined Real Madrid from Inter Milan. Germany goalkeeper Kahn was named as the best player at the World Cup.
Despite the club's failure in this season's Champions League, he has shown impressive form for Bayern Munich. French midfielder Zidane scored the winning goal for Real Madrid in May's Champions League final. Ronaldo and Zidane have won the prestigious award on two previous occasions. The award will be handed out at a Fifa gala at Madrid's Congress Centre on 17 December. |
