Spurs hold Feyenoord
Feyenoord 2-2 Tottenham

A late goal from Steffen Iversen ensured that Spurs continued their successful weekend with a draw in Rotterdam.

Spurs beat Watford 1-0 on Saturday, but appeared to be heading for defeat at the rain-soaked De Kuip stadium before Iversen grabbed an equaliser with four minutes to go.

Feyenoord started the game well, with Bonaventure Kalou and Pierre van Hooijdonk both going close.

But it was Teddy Sheringham who opened the scoring with a sweet volley after 23 minutes.

Paul Bosvelt then hit the crossbar before Ramon van Haaren equalised after 26 minutes with a scorching shot from 25 yards.

Brett Emerton - wanted by both Liverpool and Leeds - was instrumental in the Dutch team's second goal.

The Australian raced down the right before crossing for Ivory Coast winger Kalou to sweep the ball home.

Van Hooijdonk forced a brilliant save from Spurs goalkeeper Kasey Keller before a sloppy mistake at the back led to Spurs' second goal.

Defender Kees van Wonderen directed a mis-placed backpass towards goalkeeper Edwin Zoetebier and Iversen intercepted before sliding the ball home.
