Peterhead have signed 18-year-old forward Martin Wood from Highland League side Rothes.

He will go straight into the squad for the trip south to play Stirling Albion at Forthbank.

It will also be the first chance for their Third Division rivals to field new signing Kenny Brannigan.

The experienced central defender, formerly of Clydebank, joined from Second Division Berwick Rangers.

Stirling manager Ray Stewart told his club's website that he hoped Brannigan could "be a leader on the park for some of our younger players".

Brannigan's arrival followed the return to Alloa Athletic of on-loan defender Robbie Raeside after completion of his two-month loan deal.

Montrose will retain the services of former Dundee United, Nottingham Forest and Aberdeen midfielder Ray McKinnon until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old midfielder had been on trial at Links Park and won a longer deal with his performances.

Barry Donald, the 22-year-old son of former Queen of the South player Jim, has become the latest signing at Palmerston.

The tough-tackling midfielder has been signed until the end of the season.

It follows the capture of David McMahon, a striker who had previously been with Newcastle United and has been on loan with Darlington and Falkirk.

The 20-year-old has signed for a month.

Meanwhile, Arbroath midfielder Steve Mallan has turned down a move to Morton.

Arbroath had accepted a five-figure offer from the Second Division club.
