Bristol City 2-1 Peterborough
E-mail your reaction to Football Talk Bristol City 2-1 Peterborough Tony Thorpe's hit the golden goal winner in the sixth minute of extra-time to send Bristol City through to the southern section semi-finals of the LDV Vans Trophy. The striker's 11th goal of the season came when he chipped the ball home after a Scott Murray pass to settle an open, entertaining contest. Peterborough had taken a 24th-minute lead when Jimmy Bullard shot home from a Neale Fenn pass. But Murray fired a 35th-minute equaliser and City missed a chance to win in normal time when Mark Tyler saved Lee Peacock's 74th-minute penalty. The spot-kick was awarded for a foul by Gareth Jelleyman on Thorpe, and Peacock struck his shot too close to Tyler. Both sides created chances in an excellent opening 45 minutes before defences got on top in the second half, and City just about edged a closely-fought game.
