Minute-by-minute action from England's friendly win over Mexico at Derby's Pride Park.

Heskey, who was beginning to look weary, is taken off. 65 mins: Heskey clumsily brings down Mexican substitute Osorno inside the area. The referee immediately awards a penalty and Mexico have the opportunity to score their first ever goal in England. But Abundis screws the spot-kick wide of James's left-hand post. 64 mins: Jose Abundis takes a quick free-kick for Mexico and James athletically tips over his crossbar. 61 mins: Southgate clears a dangerous cross into the box after Heskey had given the ball away on the flank. Mexico are enjoying their best spell of the match. 54 mins: Manchester United striker Teddy Sheringham comes on for goalscorer Fowler. 49 mins: Smith passes to Fowler inside the area and the Liverpool striker squares the ball to Cole. The West Ham midfielder shoots straight at Sanchez with his left foot. 45 mins: England coach Sven Goran Eriksson makes a glut of substitutions. Joe Cole, Michael Carrick and Alan Smith come on to win their first caps. David James, Nicky Butt, Jamie Carragher, Chris Powell and Gareth Southgate, as captain, also enter the fray. Heskey, Phil Neville and Robbie Fowler are the only England players remaining from the first-half. Half-time: England 3-0 Mexico. England go in with a deserved three goal lead after a vibrant and imaginative first-half performance. 45 mins: Beckham heads a Mexico corner away at the near post. 36 mins: Victor Ruiz strikes a 25-yard free-kick well, but unfortunately for him, straight at Martyn.

Sanchez manages to block and then clear from the onrushing Ashley Cole. 17 mins: Sanchez manages to turn a searing drive from Fowler round his left-hand post. England are rampant. 14 mins: England 2-0 Mexico. David Beckham plays a brilliant pass to release Gerrard down the right flank. Gerrard crosses low into the area, where Fowler is on hand to side-foot past Sanchez.
10 mins: England keeper Nigel Martyn gets down well to save a deflected shot from Antonio De Nigris. 5 mins: Gerrard curls a cross in from the right and Sanchez comes quickly off his line to punch but misses. Steven Gerrard feeds Paul Scholes, who hits a venomous right-footed shot first-time past Oswaldo Sanchez from 30 yards out. 2000 BST: Robbie Fowler and Michael Owen kick off for England. Team news: England coach Sven Goran Eriksson fields four Liverpool players in a strong-looking side. Michael Owen and Robbie Fowler bring their club strike partnership onto the international stage for the first time and Emile Heskey plays on the left wing. But there is no place for their Anfield team-mate Jamie Carragher, with Manchester United's Phil Neville preferred at right-back.
