Capello's Man Utd hint
![]() Fabio Capello confessed his admiraition for Old Trafford
AS Roma coach Fabio Capello has admitted he is interested in becoming manager of Manchester United.
Sir Alex Ferguson is quitting as Old Trafford boss at the end of next season - and Capello has been among a number of names touted as a potential successor. Capello, whose Roma side were controversially knocked out of the Uefa Cup by Liverpool, has just signed a new two year deal at the club. But the former Italian international midfield man - who has also coached AC Milan and Real Madrid - hinted that might not be an obstacle to a possible United approach. He admitted: "Yes, I would like to manage Manchester United. I like England, I like the spirit of the English football and I'd like to work in English football. "At the moment I have signed for Roma for two years, but who knows in football? Maybe in another year it will be time to move on." Although Capello could be in the running for the United job, having led AC Milan to four Italian titles and Real Madrid to the Spanish championship, a United spokesperson said candidates from all over the world would be considered provided they could speak English.
