Fulham deny link with Kanchelskis

English First Division leaders Fulham have been linked with Rangers' out-of-favour winger, Andrei Kanchelskis.
A report suggests that the former Everton and Manchester United star could be set to join up with Jean Tigana at Craven Cottage on loan. But Fulham on Wednesday dismissed the story as pure speculation, a spokeswoman insisting: "There is not truth in that whatsoever." Kanchelskis has not featured in the Rangers first team in more than two months. Available for nothing The English edition of the Star suggested that Tigana was looking to take Kanchelskis on loan until the end of the season.
Kanchelskis was one of Dick Advocaat's first signings at Ibrox. The Russian international arrived in Glasgow from Serie A side Fiorentina in the summer of 1998 for a then Scottish transfer record of £5.5m. Banished He has been in and out of the side since then but recently had a disagreement with Advocaat. The Scottish champions' Dutch coach had asked him to play in an Under-21 game against Aberdeen in November. Kanchelskis refused and was banished from the first-team squad and ordered to train with the club¿s youngsters. The dispute was resolved after showdown talks with Advocaat, but the player has yet to feature in any of the first-team squads in the four games since.
