Norfolk's Piggy French is out to put seven years of frustration behind her at this year's Badminton Horse Trials.
The 30-year-old Great Britain international's best Badminton showing was a 31st place finish in 2003, last year she failed to make the positions.
"Badminton's not been a great place for me through injuries and other bad luck," she told BBC Radio Norfolk.
"It would be fabulous to try and put the ghosts to rest and that's what we'll be trying to do."
French will ride 12-year-old Jakata in Gloucestershire, who is joint owned by her father Walter and Michael Underwood.
It is a horse she last teamed with at Weston Park to a second-placed finish earlier in the month and the pair won together at Hartpury last year.
But French has been disappointed with her build-up to the event which starts on Thursday.
"I haven't had a great preparation, this spring with the top horses has not gone totally according to plan," she explained.
"But you've just got to keep going and put that behind you.
"Badminton is probably the biggest three-day event that is out there.
"If anyone asks you what would you like to win in your career, Olympic gold would be the crème de la crème personally, but Badminton would be very shortly afterwards."
