Bashley relishing play-off task

Non-League

Bashley manager Steve Riley has hailed his side's season as "magnificent", whatever happens in this week's Southern League play-offs.

The New Forest side head to Team Bath on Tuesday, for their one-off Premier Division semi-final.

And Riley told BBC Radio Solent: "It's going to be a great day for the club, and we'll go and do our best."

The winners will face either Halesowen or Chippenham, for a place in Blue Square South next season.

"On and off the field everyone has worked tremendously hard, and it's just great to be involved in the play-offs in our first season at this level," Riley added.

"It will be a tough game because Team Bath are a very athletic side. We've had two great games against them this season, and there's a bit of rivalry there."

Team Bath face Bashley fresh from the disappointment of missing out on the Southern Premier Division title, at the expense of King's Lynn. But Riley believes that isn't necessarily any help to his side.

"It could work against us, because they will be smarting, and will want to come out and put on a show."
