Blue Sheets stay top in Zapcats

Zapcat Racing
Zapcats are capable of speeds approaching 50mph

Blue Sheets Racing remain on top of the Zapcat National Championship standings after storming to victory in both rounds seven and eight in Plymouth.

On Saturday, the teams were faced with torrential rain in Plymouth Sound, but Blue Sheets held off a challenge from Randall & Payne to claim gold.

Sunday saw Blue Sheets hold off another Randall & Payne surge to win again.

Zapcats are small catamarans originally used in South Africa for life saving in heavy surf.

Around 30 teams of racers from across the UK converged on Plymouth for the event.

The next rounds of the Championships will take place in Barry Island, Glamorgan, on August 1-2.
