England women suffer second loss
Tour match, Geelong: Australia women U21 214-8 (50 overs) beat England women 162 all out (42 overs) by 52 runs

England women suffered their second successive defeat on tour as they lost to Australia U21 by 52 runs.

Jess Cameron, coming in at number eight, hit 53 not out to take the Shooting Stars to 214-7 in Geelong.

England started poorly and a stand of 40 between captain Charlotte Edwards and Jenny Gunn, followed by Caroline Atkins's 32 not out, was not enough.

"Our fielding and bowling was a huge improvement but again our batting was well below-par," said Edwards.

England face the same opponents again on Wednesday and Edwards added: "We'll be working hard over the next couple of days and we'll look forward to showing what we're capable."
