Huge stand thwarts England women
Second Women's Test, Taunton: India 168-2 v England

England had eight India wickets down in the first Test
An unbroken century partnership between captain Mithali Raj and Anjum Chopra guided India to 168-2 at stumps on day one of the women's Test with England.

The tourists, who held out for a draw in the first of the two-match series, made a cautious start after the opening session was lost to rain at Taunton.

The third-wicket pair, who both fell for ducks in the first Test, dug in after two wickets fell for two runs.

Raj hit nine fours in her 64 while Chopra added five boundaries in 56.
