Tudor ruled out of Oval Test
James Ormond
Ormond could be in line for a Test debut
Surrey all-rounder Alex Tudor has pulled out of England's squad for the fifth Ashes Test with a hip injury.

The 23-year-old only bowled four overs in Australia's second innings at Headingley after picking up the injury.

England captain Nasser Hussain told a news conference: "Alex has to sort it out, it's as simple as that.

"Tudor is a fine prospect, we just have to get his body right. It's not easy for a young lad."

Tudor's England career has been blighted by injuries and he is the second player ruled out of the match after Alan Mullally's side injury ruled him out of contention.

Tudor marked his return to the England side this summer after a two-year absence with a five-wicket haul in the third Test.

His omission leaves England with a 13-man squad for the final Test of the summer and could pave the way for either Richard Johnson or James Ormond to make their Test debut.

Alternatively, England could go into the match with two spinners by including both the recalled Phil Tufnell and Robert Croft.

England: Michael Atherton, Marcus Trescothick, Mark Butcher, Nasser Hussain (capt), Mark Ramprakash, Usman Afzaal, Alec Stewart (wkt), Andrew Caddick, Darren Gough, James Ormond, Richard Johnson, Robert Croft, Phil Tufnell
