Nicky Boje

DOB: 20.3.73
Team: Free State
Test debut: 1st Test v India at Bombay, 1999/00
One-day international debut: v Zimbabwe at Harare, 1st ODI, 1995/96

Orthodox slow left arm bowler; Left hand batsman
Boje has been a regular in the one-day squad since the mid 1990s and will be keen to make a point after losing his place in the Test side during the home series against the Aussies.

Also a more than useful batsman, he is, along with Lance Klusener, he is one of the fastest scorers in South African cricket.

He hit 105 not out and 129 in the one-day series against New Zealand last season, and is often used at the top of the batting order to provide an initial acceleration before the specialist batsman look to build a platform.

Boje was dogged by injury problems in 2001 and missed the first two Tests of the Australian tour due to knee problems but is now fully recovered.
