England v WI as it happened
West Indies 218-8 beat England 217 by two wickets

Ian Bradshaw and Courtney Browne broke English hearts with a magnificent stand of 71 to carry West Indies to victory in the Champions Trophy final.

Bradshaw (35) and Browne (34) saw them to 218-8 with seven balls to spare after England had been bowled out for 217 earlier in the day.

England's total was built around 104 off 124 balls by Marcus Trsescothick.

Andrew Flintoff and Steve Harmison cut through the West Indies top order, but Bradshaw and Browne rose to the occasion.

Latest action:

49th over: Wharf runs in with a crescendo of noise continuing to build around the ground. A no-ball costs England three as Browne plays to deep cover and he then slashes away to third man for four.

Bradshaw clinches a magnificent victory with a square drive to the boundary.

48th over: West Indies collect singles from the first five deliveries of Gough's final over as Bradshaw and Browne continue to bat superbly in dismal light, before he consludes his spell with a dot ball.

47th over: The pressure falls on Wharf with West Indies needing 19 off four overs. He does well to concede just two singles as the total moves past 200.

46th over: Browne sprints through for two after edging Gough down to Flintoff at third man. A push to mid-on for one brings up the 50 partnership.

45th over: Bradshaw and Browne see off Flintoff's final over and pick up two singles as a bonus.

44th over: The umpires are concerned about the light but the two Barbadian batsmen opt to stay on. Bradshaw drives Collingwood past cover for four and then cuts a short ball away for another.

43rd over: Browne takes a single to square leg as England turn again to Flintoff. The batsman appears fortunate as umpire Koertzen rejects a loud lbw appeal.

42nd over: Harmison comes up for his last over. He only concedes one run but cannot produce a wicket and finishes with figures of 2-34.

41st over: Browne plays Gough into the gap at mid-wicket for two. A full toss is punished as Bradshaw puts it away for four.

40th over: Browne produces a touch of Calypso cricket as he hammers Harmison square for four - West Indies need 47 off the final 10 overs.

39th over: Gough finds the edge but the ball does not carry to first slip Trescothick, who does well to take the pace off it and keep Bradshaw to one run.

38th over: Vaughan calls up Harmison to try and finish off the match. Bradshaw does well to squeeze out a yorker, adding two through mid-off.

37th over: Gough comes back into the attack, still looking for his first success but is denied a maiden as Browne takes two to square leg off the last ball.

36th over: Bradshaw steps across in front of his stumps and whips the ball down to long leg for one. Browne, a right-hander, adds one in the same direction with a sliced drive.

35th over: Bradshaw flashes a wide ball from Wharf and collects four via the edge to take the total past 150.

34th over: Collingwood strikes a crucial blow as Chanderpaul chips a simple catch to Vaughan at cover off the leading edge. West Indies 147-8 (Chanderpaul 47)

33rd over: Flintoff's spell ends after two overs as Wharf is recalled. Browne crashes away a half volley but the boundary fielder restricts him to one.

32nd over: Browne takes an easy single to open his account after playing and missing at the previous delivery. West Indies collect four leg byes off the final ball as Collingwood loses his line momentarily.

31st over: Flintoff finds plenty of movement off the pitch from round the wicket. A single to cover by Chanderpaul is the only run conceded.

West Indies 135-7 (Powell 14)

29th over: Another bowling change sees Flintoff return. He is unlucky as he finds the edge of Powell's bat and the ball runs down to third man for four.

28th over: Collingwood replaces Trescothick as England continue their all-seam policy. Powell forces away square off the back foot and sprints back for a second run.

16th over With the fielding restrictions relaxed, Wharf replaces Harmison in the attack. The Durham pace man had figures of 7-1-24-2 in his opening spell.

Lara struggles to adjust to a lesser pace and a little swing. Jones appeals for a catch behind but the ball brushed Lara's shirt rather than his bat. The West Indies captain complains about the light, which is pretty poor.
