James Ormond
He took only one wicket at a cost of 115 as the tourists piled up 641 for four declared, having Ricky Ponting caught at slip for 62, but did enough to earn a place in England's winter Test squad. Broad shouldered and powerfully built, Ormond has been able to draw on advice from teammates Phil DeFreitas and Devon Malcolm, who have both served England well in the past. His off-spin, very much at the developing stage, was not used in India, and Ormond played just one Test in the subcontinent - it was a performance he will want to forget.
