Shahzad has been part of the England set-up in recent months
|
England bowler Ajmal Shahzad is out of the remainder of the World Cup because of a left hamstring injury. The 25-year-old was injured in training and missed Thursday's 18-run victory over the West Indies in Chennai. Shahzad also sat out the last two one- day internationals in Australia after tearing a hamstring in Brisbane. England will call up a replacement for Shahzad if results go their way over the weekend and they reach the quarter-finals of the tournament. England will go through unless Bangladesh need to beat South Africa and the West Indies get at least a point against India. Yorkshire all-rounder Shahzad was the pick of England's bowlers against Bangladesh with 3-43.
