Former Tasmania and Somerset captain Jamie Cox has been named as Australia's fourth national selector.
Cox is the only selector never to have played for Australia
Cox, 37, scored 18,614 first-class runs in a 19-year career which ended last year, but never played in a Test.
"I think the career that I had holds me in real good stead to be a selector. It gives you a natural empathy for those on the fringe," he said.
Cox replaces Allan Border on the selection panel after the former Australia captain resigned last month.
Former Australia players Andrew Hilditch, the chairman, David Boon and Merv Hughes are the other national selectors.
